BMW F800 GS Problem Starting & Full Service
This new client contacted GP Motor Works with the problem getting their BMW F800 GS motorbike to start. They also requested we do a full routine service.
In order to establish why the bike was not starting we commenced our investigation by running diagnostic testing. This showed the key was not communicating with the DME control unit. We then physically checked the wiring from the key reader (transponder) to the engine control unit. This was followed by testing the key reader. The fault was eventually traced to the antenna on the key reader. Once the key reader was replaced the bike started perfectly.
We then carried out the full service which included oil change, oil and air filters, spark plugs and brake fluid. The chain was then cleaned and lubricated.
