Mini Cooper Engine Damage Caused By Overheating
Our client rushed into our workshop at GP Motor Works after hearing loud and severe noises coming from the engine of their Mini Cooper.
We conducted diagnostics tests and looked for immediate signs of engine damage. One of the visual observations was water contamination of the engine oil. This clearly indicated the engine had overheated. The timing chain was also damaged.
Mini Cooper Engine Rebuild
Our technician, Jacob, removed the engine head and it was sent away to the engineering company to be skimmed and reconditioned. The valves and seats were refaced and new valve guides and valve stem seals were installed.
Once the engine was re-assembled the vehicle was thoroughly tested.
We have had quite a number of vehicles with severe engine damage caused by a lack of preventative maintenance. Please make it a regular habit to check your oil and water levels every time you fill up with fuel. Also, it is vital to follow your manufacturer’s guidelines when it comes to oil changes.
