Mini Cooper Engine Overheated Needed to be Replaced
This Mini Cooper S R56 was brought into GP Motor Works with a damaged engine and various other problems.
We carried out diagnostics as well as visual inspection and found the engine was severely damaged by overheating. Piston #3 was literally melted and completely out of round. The excessive heat buildup had caused a blown head with resultant oil and water contamination.
Due to the high cost of a new engine, our client requested we source a refurbished second hand engine which we were able to do. This “new” engine was successfully installed.
Mini Cooper S R56 Clutch and Flywheel Replacement
The existing clutch and flywheel needed to be replaced due to normal wear and tear. We sourced new components and fitted them.
Mini Cooper S R56 Turbo Reconditioned
The turbo was also damaged due to the engine overheating. The turbo seals were shot which caused oil leakage. The seals were replaced and the turbo was reconditioned.
