Mini Cooper Engine Noise & Random Faults
A client brought this Mini Cooper R56 into GP Motor Works with engine noise, a misfire, suspension problems and intermittent warning lights. They also needed a new key to be made.
We conducted diagnostics to pinpoint the cause of the various problems. The misfire was caused by a faulty coil on cylinder #1 and this was replaced. We made a new key and programmed it to work with the central locking and the remote.
The intermittent warning lights appearing on the dashboard and the speedometer were found to be caused by a faulty radio. It was causing interference with the K-CAN low line. The client asked us to source a secondhand radio.
The client decided to have all the other repairs done at a later stage.
