Mini JohnCooperWorks Timing Chain, Alternator & Water Pump Problems
This client was highly concerned with the noises coming from the engine of their Mini John Cooper Works when the car was started. They contacted GP Motor Works to diagnose and repair the faults.
We first conducted a thorough diagnostic test and found the following issues:
- the timing chain was stretched
- the alternator had a seized bearing
- there was a noise from the frictional wheel on the water pump
We replaced the timing chain, reconditioned the alternator and replaced the water pump.
Contact us immediately if you hear any strange noises or if your Mini is not running smoothly. Early intervention will almost certainly save you money!
